Hairstylist

How I ended up as a bridal hairstylist?

Truthfully, it’s been a long one. Full of cross roads. Where I could have gone either way. I guess that’s life right?! Look both ways.

I was always good at hair. My mom use to wake me up at 5:00 am starting at Age 12, to blow dry her hair for work. 🤣 I kid you not. Myself and A round brush should be illegal. At least if it was, I wouldn’t have carpal tunnel. Ha!

I was always the girl doing the updos for prom & formal. The cute messy ponytail & bun for the Friday night football game.

I tried to be everything but a hairstylist. I really didn’t think it was a good enough job. It’s really a labor of love. One day in 2010 I was broke & heartbroken from a breakup. I guess I hit rock bottom. One day I skydived out of a airplane at 14,500 feet and the next day I walked into Paul Mitchell Modesto and signed up for school.

School wasn’t easy. Too many female hormones running through those halls. I showed up everyday and landed among some of the best & got the bell out of there.

My first licensed job was at a blow dry bar in Fresno. I worked full time there and full time at Elle Style Bar in Clovis, a full service salon. I actually sat all day at Elle for 6 months with next to no clients & then worked til 9 pm at Blown Away.

Years later I made it back up here to Oakdale. I booth rented at 507 DAY Spa until the pandemic hit. From there I just woke up. I was just going through the motions and that’s something I said I wouldn’t do with my life.
