Seamstress

How I became “the seamstress”?

I bet you’re wondering how I became a bridal Seamstress in a modern progressive world?!

I get tilted heads & wide eyes when those words hit their ears. Sometimes I can see the look in peoples face when they see I’m not a 60 year old women, followed by the… “how long have you been doing this?!”

Ha! 🤣 I love it. Even more when I radiate with confidence the words, “well I’m 34 now and I started my business at 18. So 16 years!”

If that’s not long enough to convince you that you’re bringing your dress to a very experienced seamstress, well then go find yourself a 60 year old women 😝

I’ll get there eventually! Ha!

Alright! Alright! So how I got here!

Well I had a very humble beginning. I’m the 5th child of my parents. In layman’s terms. We were poor. I only got hand me downs. And I just hated the fashion styles of my siblings. So I started sewing.

I’d fuse two designs together, etc.

Through my teenage years I thought this meant I was supposed to be a fashion designer. So I made sure I moved to Los Angeles and went to Fashion school at Otis College of Art and design. But a month in I realized quickly that wasn’t for me.

Came back to the valley & started my first business TAYLORED ALTERATIONS. I soon realized after becoming a hairstylist that I wanted to specialize in all things bride.
